A Message from the Transition Committee
Dear St. Peter’s Parishioners and Family,
In order to continue to be relevant and to respond to the needs of our community, we must recognize that we are part of a dynamic system. The demographics of the St. Peter’s congregation have changed over time, as has the community of Santa Maria. If we are to appropriately fulfil our work of bringing the message of the Good News of Christ to our community, we need to recognize this and respond accordingly.
This week, and for the next few weeks, the Transition Committee will be seeking congregational input into how you envision the future of St. Peter’s and what will be our role in the community. This is a wonderful opportunity for you to discern and share your hopes and dreams for St. Peter’s and this community and to have an open discussion with similarly invested members of the parish. We are hopeful that together we can map a plan to carry us forward into the next decade of ministry and beyond.
Please jot down your thoughts and either e-mail them to Marty Durrett, Martyvery4ten8@aol.com, hand them to a member of the Transition Committee on Sunday, or hand them in to the parish office.
Yours sincerely,
The Transition Committee:
Pat Baker, chairperson,
Patricia Wilson, Vic Oneschuck,
Terri Oneschuck, Marty Durrett.
The initial questions we would like you to consider are:
1. How do you see our church in 5 years?
2. What is God calling us to become?
3. Where do you see St. Peter’s in the future?
4. What role do you envision for St. Peter’s in the wider community of Santa Maria?
You are invited to participate in the Daughters of the King Quiet Day, a time of prayer, reflection, and connection on September 21st from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Lunch will be provided. Please contact Martha to register or for more information
